It's pounding drums, guitars that sound like they are on fire, and various other instruments all entangled in a giant wave of noise. Of course, there are moments of beauty throughout "Monolithic," particularly the beginning. As with most artists creating loud and heavy noise, Divide and Dissolve aren't going to be for everyone. But if you're into this sort of thing, "Monolithic" will be a revelation.
