It resides in an area that recalls vintage country and a more modern country sound. It's a simply gorgeous song that shows off the pop leaning side of alt-country without coming close to pop country. The song is accentuated by the pedal steel playing of the late Chris Stafford, which is what gives "A Little Dream" it's vintage adjacent sound.
