AlphaSix featuring Hunt the Dinosaur - "DOOMcraftian Horror"

Image
Our favorite Boston based Lovecraftian sci-fi horror band are back with a new single. "DOOMcraftian Horror" is the sixth chapter of their "Assimilate: Oceans" series, so they obviously released it on June 6. The song features deathcore legends Hunt the Dinosaur and is inspired by the DOOM franchise. The song tells the tale of H.P Six Slayer, humanity's champion who rises up to take on AlphaSix. The song is five minutes of relentless heavy music. In fact, this one could very well be too heavy to fit into the category of metal. "DOOMcraftian Horror" is loud, abrasive, furious, and most likely too much for most of you. But give this one a shot. You might surprise yourself. AlphaSix say of their latest single: "We wanted to capture DOOM's legendary extreme violence and cinematic action while translating that energy into our cosmic horror universe. When we envisioned H.P Six Slayer ripping and tearing through hordes of assimilated horrors, we knew ...

AlphaSix - "Communion of the Parasites"

Image
Boston's favorite "Lovecraftian sci-fi horror metal trio" AlphaSix are back with a new single. "Communion of the Parasites" is the fourth chapter of the "Assimilate: Oceans" saga, and it's more of their extreme metal. Seriously, this song is insanely heavy and batshit crazy enough that even some of your metalhead friends will bristle from it. It's loud, it's heavy, it's filled with screaming vocals, and it's pretty great. This one in particular is reminding me of the digital hardcore movement of the 90's, but a metal version of that. "Communion of the Parasites" might be the heaviest song we've ever covered here at If It's Too Loud... Even the message of the song is extreme as it "... follows the first major terrestrial assault by AlphaSix's cultists as they weaponize humanity's food supply, transforming a wealthy resort town's inhabitants into ravenous, grotesque entities driven by uncontrolla...

AlphaSix - "Nope. (Archno//Thalasso//Phobia)"

Image
The latest single from AlphaSix, Boston's favorite Lovecraftian sci-fi/horror metal band, is out now! "Nope. (Arachno//Thalasso//Phobia)" is beyond heavy. This is three and a half of the most punishing minutes your ears will ever experience. It's almost like someone took the loudest metal song, the loudest industrial song, and the loudest digital hardcore song you've ever heard and merged them all into one sonic mindfuck. AlphaSix are emphatically not for everyone. They probably aren't even for most metal fans. But, if you think that you're up for the challenge, this is probably going to work for you. Plus, who couldn't use some more Lovecraftian sci-fi/horror metal? You can watch the video for "Nope. (Arachno//Thalasso//Phobia)" below. Assimilate: Oceans is due out later this year. AlphaSix - "Abyssal Awakening"

Image
Photo courtesy AlphaSix Even though we don't cover a ton of metal here at If It's Too Loud..., apparently there are two secrets to get our attention. The first is to have it be extremely loud and fast. The second is to describe it as "Lovecraftian sci-fi horror metal." AlphaSix fit both of those qualifications, so we're all over their latest single. "Abyssal Awakening" blows all of those stadium metal bands away by sure volume. It's loud, it's fast, there's a ton of screaming, the drums sound like some kind of monster is rapidly gaining on you, and the guitar just pummels you into submission. AlphaSix will certainly not be for anyone, and your metal loving friend could even hate them. But if you're looking for a fresh and exciting take on the genre, "Abyssal Awakening" could end up being what you need. AlphaSix say of their new single: “We had a vision, to achieve a song of chaos. Filled with different scenes throughout to tell ...

AlphaSix - "Orphan! Tether to the Mother"

Image
Photo courtesy AlphaSix We're hardly a haven for heavy music, but I was a child of the 80's and 90's, so my tastes can wander into heavier territory every so often. And if you're going to label your music as "Lovecraftian sci-fi horror metal," I'm at least going to check it out. That's where AlphaSix comes in. The Boston metal trio released a new song today called "Orphan! Tether to the Mother" that's infinitely heavier than anything we typically bring you. But, you know what? Turns out this is great. It's just pure pummeling chaos that doesn't relent for four minutes and twenty-one seconds. Playing AlphaSix will make you realize just how boring, repetitive, and just non-metal most metal is these days. "Orphan! Tether to the Mother" takes most popular metal bands and destroys them through being a monstrosity.  AlphaSix say of their latest single: “We’re steering into heavier territory for this chapter, while still mainta...
