Screaming Females Cover Taylor Swift
I absolutely love The AV Club's Undercover series. Every season, they come up with a list of songs, and then have bands come in and choose one to perform. Some are pretty natural ( Punch Brothers did The Strokes' "Reptilia," which they perform live anyway), but you get great gems like this one. Screaming Females made a return trip and this time around covered Taylor Swift's omnipresent "Shake It Off." I only really know the original because of going to the gym and having a 6 year old daughter, but I think I prefer Screaming Females' version better. It's not quite ironic, but not quite a true tribute. That usually makes the perfect cover. My only wish is that Marissa Paternoster had broken out the guitar a little more.
