The Uptights - "Arthaus Rock"

According to their Bandcamp profile, Oslo, Noway's The Uptights have been making "Low fidelity guitar music since 2010." Their latest single, "Arthaus Rock," is decidedly lo-fi, but not in the standard way. While most lo-fi rock is of the quiet, personal bedroom variety, The Uptights play huge rock. It's an epic, swinging for the stadiums rocking song... just a lo-fi version. If anything it sounds like someone tried to clean up early Sonic Youth demos for radio airplay but failed miserably (and I mean that in a good way). It's gloriously noisy and kind of a mess, but in the way you want it to be.

You can listen to "Arthaus Rock" below. It is for them that the lights twinkle is due out June 25. You can pre-order a copy via Bandcamp. For more on The Uptights, check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
