Lynda Mandolyn Covers The Paris Sisters

Originally meant to be a duet between Lynda Mandolyn (Tiger Bomb, Crystal Canyon) and the late Justine Covault, Mandolyn has released a cover of The Paris Sisters' "I Love How You Love Me." Mandolyn's version is very faithful to the original, with just a little bit more of a garage rock edge to it. There's even some surprisingly noisy and rough guitar work later on that you wouldn't expect in such a clean tribute to a girl group classic. It's a great tribute to her late friend, and is going to work perfectly for fans of early rock and roll, doo wop, and garage rock. As with virtually anything on Run Bar Records, this is going to get our highest endorsement.

Lynda Mandolyn says of her new single:

"Justine (Covault) approached me about doing this song as a duet together. We both shared out love for David Lynch (Angelo Badalamenti) and the early 60’s girl groups. We started sending notes back and forth to each other planning on how we’d like to approach this. The collaboration never came to be. Months after her passing, the message grew louder to me to get people together to see this through and honor her with our version. I took her notes and went into Acadia Studio here in Portland with the finest: Jessica Smith on drums, Kate Bee on synth, Serge Vladimiroff on bass and Seana Carmody guitar and vocals. Together we made a beautiful version of the song that Justine loved, “I Love How You Love Me,” a 1961 smash hit by The Paris Sisters. I felt like levitating after I heard the final mix, there was so much love in that room.… For Justine <3"
