The Technicolors - "Posh Spice"

Originally from Phoenix, The Technicolors are now Los Angeles and Nashville based. Their latest single, "Posh Spice," is an homage to Victoria Beckham, and is the band's first new music in four years. It's a fuzzed out and fast paced groove of a song that sounds like Queens of the Stone Age trying out indie sleaze and jamming out with Midnight Vultures-era Beck. "Posh Spice" is a fun rock song that's a little too danceable to be metal, although it is sneakily heavy. It's the type of song that's going to give you some retro flashbacks without sounding even slightly dated.

Frontman Brenna Smiley says of the band's new single:

“‘Posh Spice’ started as a guitar riff Sean had been toying around with in the studio and we just kept chipping away and building around it between takes until it turned into a full song. Lyrics almost always come last for us, and from the beginning we loved the working title ‘Posh Spice’ because it set us down a path reaching for some kind of fun juxtaposition between themes of grit and toughness against the greasy sound of the band trudging through the mud the whole time.”
