Austin based writer, performer, producer, and filmmaker Mobley has a new single out that can best be described as neo-soul. "Yesterday's Another Day" is taken from his upcoming concept album starring Jacob Creedmoor, the frontman of a band performing on a fictional 80's variety show. The song can best be described as neo-soul, but not in the way we normally use neo-soul as a genre. It's retro, but in that late 70's/early 80's retro way with a little of that space age sound that snuck into just about everything back then. It's a little disco, it's a little funk, and it's quite simply great.
Mobley says of his latest single:
“In the last proper song on the album, the central character Jacob marvels at the durability of his passion for his lost love. He shrugs off his self-consciousness about living in the past with a cheeky modification of the aphorism ‘tomorrow’s another day.’”
