We first discovered Brontez Purnell back when the author, dancer, and musician opened for Bikini Kill. He's now back with new music. "Bachelors Theme" is a punk song that is over in less than ninety seconds. Punk purists might not agree that this is a punk song, as it isn't truly hard or angry. It's also not even remotely pop punk. Instead, it's this interesting style that is a fast but not too heavy and fun song that's rooted firmly in punk, with pop hooks but no shred of pop punk or emo. But it's a great and unique style that punks with open minds (or just fans of killer tunes) are going to love.
Brontez Purnell says of his new single:
“'Bachelor Theme' is about being at the STD Clinic and accepting the pitfalls of being way too attractive and overly desirable - and a thunder crack of epiphany strikes: mass acceptance is overrated and (maybe, perhaps) only one guy deserves your love.”
You can watch the video for "Bachelors Theme" below. Confirmed Bachelor is due out November 3 on Upset the Rhythm, and is available for pre-order here. For more on Brontez Purnell, check out the artist on Instagram.
