Montreal based singer/songwriter and violinist Thanya Iyer has released a single that fits right in with what we love here at If It's Too Loud... while sounding nothing like what we normally cover. "leave the room and face the wave" has both a retro cool feel along with a completely fresh experimental sound. It has that retro 60's French cool with a Baroque and jazz vibe, but it also sounds like modern freak folk. It's the bare bones of what we know from the coolest side of the 60's but with these bizarre little flourishes that keep and modern and somehow even cooler. It's both completely unique and completely familiar, and something you need to check out for yourself.
