I'm not sure if it's exactly a cover when the original singer is singing the entire song, but when legendary rockers The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs bring in the legendary Cherie Currie for a version of The Runaways' "Cherry Bomb," how can we not pay attention? I'm going to assume we all know the original iconic song, and The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs nail the song perfectly. This is just no nonsense garage rock and roll mixed with OG punk rock in the best possible way. If you think you're going to like this cover, you definitely will.
Cherie Currie says of The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs:
"I love the Cheetahs version of 'Cherry Bomb.' I met Frank and Dino early on, liked them from the start, and have stayed friends ever since. Frank Meyer has turned me on to so many memorable gigs, sessions, and people during our three decades of friendship. He is an exceptional player, performer, singer and song writer. A selfless human being that I am so proud to call one of my very best friends!”
