Verböten - "Kicking Away"

Fresh off their first live show in forty-one years at Riot Fest, 80's Chicago teen and tween punk band Verböten have a new single out before their debut album is released this Friday. "Kicking Away" is a skate punk anthem clocking in at under two minutes. Of all the singles we've heard so far, this one sounds the most like classic early 80's punk. Considering it's about guitarist/singer Jason Narducy's childhood memories skateboarding, that makes perfect sense. It's not often that a band of literal children breaks up before ever releasing an album has such an anticipated release as Verböten does, but most bands aren't Verböten.

Jason Narducy says of the band's reunion:

“This is the punk rock record we always wanted to make. That's what we wanted to do as kids—we just weren't able to do it. This is how I imagined this band would have grown if we had stayed a band.”

You can watch the video for "Kicking Away" below. Verböten's self-titled debut album is due out October 4, and is available for pre-order at Bandcamp. For more on the band, check them out on Instagram and Facebook.

  1. I am Hazel, and I live in Alabama. I filed bankruptcy two years ago and have been rebuilding my credit since then. Last month my Equifax score from myFICO was 490. I had a secured loan from Navy fed for $4800 and paid $266.00 a month that was paid off on 7/22 then come August my credit score -21 points WITH (the reason was one of your accounts has decreased by $266.00) the loan paid on time every month never late and was at the end if it term. I have credit cards that are paid on time, or I completely pay off every month, but credit scores are still low, myFICO says my credit utilization is at 8%. I was able to employ the services of HACK WEST CREDIT SPECIALIST who helped me increase my credit scores to high 700s across the bureaus, all the negatives, liens, charge offs and BK removed. Just send a message to H A C K W E S T @ W R I T E M E . C O M and thank me later.
