Farmer's Wife Cover Donovan

'Tis the season for covers of Donovan's 1966 classic "Season of the Witch." The first we've come across this year comes from Farmer's Wife. The Austin band's version stays mostly faithful to the original. They keep the psychedelic vibe of the classic, but they just jack up the creepy factor with indie rock noise and feedback. Molly Masson's vocals go between a jazz style and screaming, and the swirling and building noise behind her is just perfection. Donovan's version is a Halloween standard based more on the title than the sound of the song. Farmer's Wife take that template and make the song a truly moody Halloween classic.

You can listen to Farmer's Wife's version of "Season of the Witch" below. For more on Farmer's Wife, check out the band on Instagram.
