the forest forgets - Of Wind & Willows

Hailing from Manchester, NH, the forest forgets formed earlier this year and have released a debut EP that's quickly becoming a must listen. Of Wind & Willows combines metal with post-rock. It's five sludge filled songs propelled forward with thundering drums and buzzing guitars. There's also a surprising amount of melody and beauty within the song, which is rare in music so loud and punishing at times. The opening track, "Peel Back," is less than five minutes but feels much longer (in a good way) since it's so epic in scope. On this EP, the forest forgets sounds like a combination of Deftones and At the Drive In, with some Dio sprinkled in. If that doesn't convince you to listen to Of Wind & Willows, this description from the press release should: "
Influenced by the haunting landscapes of nature with lyrical introspection, their sound weaves sludgy riffs with mournful melodies, inspired by themes of existential dread, decay, and the passage of time."

You can listen to Of Wind & Willows below. It is available now via Bandcamp. For more on the forest forgets, check out the band's website.
