Brad Marino - "Devil May Care"

Image
For his latest single, Rochester, NH's Brad Marino is showing off his power pop side. "Devil May Care" has a much groovier side than we're used to hearing from Marino. Plus, the song has some killer slide guitar which gives off some country vibes, which are also new. We do get some keys in the song for some vintage garage rock goodness for "Devil May Care." The single clocks in at just under two and a half minutes, but somehow packs garage rock, power pop, country, and some 60's groove into such a short song. This is a fun one, and it's great to see Marino expanding his sound here. You can listen to "Devil May Care" below. Agent of Chaos is due out April 3 on Spaghetty Town Records, Ghost Highway Recordings, and Beluga Records, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp . Brad Marino - "Calling Your Bluff"

Image
New Hampshire's own Brad Marino is back with yet another killer garage rock/power pop single. "Calling Your Bluff" is just simple, stripped down rock and roll. It sounds like it could have been released any time in the past five decades, with only some slicker production betraying that it's a modern song. Marino has been one of the most consistently great artists that we regularly cover here at If It's Too Loud..., and "Calling Your Bluff" fits right in with what we love about his music. This is fun, straight up rock and roll, and we can never seem to get enough of that style. You can listen to "Calling Your Bluff" below. Agent of Chaos is due out April 3 on Spaghetty Town Records, Ghost Highway Recordings, and Beluga Records. For more on Brad Marino, check out the artist on Facebook and Instagram .

Brad Marino - "Murder & Violence"

Image
New Hampshire's favorite garage rocker is back with a new single! Brad Marino just released "Murder & Violence," which sees him slowing things down a bit and leaning more heavily into the power pop side of things. It's a jangly power ballad, with the tempo maybe just a half step faster than your typical power ballad. It's reminding me a lot of when the Ramones released a slow song. In typical Brad Marino fashion, "Murder & Violence" is a catchy and highly addictive new track that's going to happily become your new favorite earworm. I've been a fan of Marino's for a while now, and this new song certainly isn't changing that. You can watch the visualizer for "Murder & Violence" below. Agent of Chaos is due out April 3 on Spaghetty Town Records, Ghost Highway Recordings, and Beluga Records. For more on Brad Marino, check out the artist on Facebook and Instagram .

The Stripp - "If You Want Me"

Image
Spaghetty Town Records are one of the premier rock and roll labels around these days, so you know when they have a new release it's going to be great. Their latest is from The Stripp. The Australian band's latest single, "If You Want Me," is straightforward rock and roll without any excesses. It's garage rock laced with punk and power pop, which is a perfect mixture around these parts. This is driving rock music that's sneakily catchy, and all around great.  You can watch the video for "If You Want Me" below. Life Imitates Art is due out January 23 on Spaghetty Town Records, Ghost Highway Recordings, and Beluga Records. For more on The Stripp, check out the band on Instagram and Facebook .

Mala Vista - "Snub Nose .38"

Image
Photo by Emilina Filippo New York City's Mala Vista make the kind of punk rock that would be more at home in 1977 than 2025. Their latest single, "Snub Nose .38," is a fast and raw classic punk song. The song is reminiscent of OG punk bands like Ramones and Johnny Thunders, and with vocalist Myke Miranda occasionally sounding like Lux Interior, Mala Vista are doing the vintage punk sound perfectly. The guitars are the true weapon of "Snub Nose .38," with their buzzsaw-like sounding carrying the perfect level of menace. If you love punk rock at all, you're going to need to love Mala Vista. You can listen to "Snub Nose .38" below. The EP Snub Nose .38 is due out October 31 on Spaghetty Town Records and Ghost Highway Recordings. It's available for pre-order through Bandcamp . For more on Mala Vista, check out the band on Facebook and Instagram . Upcoming European tour dates are below the song. Snub Nose .38 EP by MALA VISTA 31 October Berlin, DE ...

Clean Lines - Nuisance

Image
Photo by Mari Tamura Seattle's Clean Lines don't sound like what you picture a band from Seattle to sound like. The band is made up of musicians that have previously played in The Briefs, Circle Jerks, Geraldine Fibbers, and Boss Martians, but that doesn't define their sound, either. Their new EP, Nuisance , is four songs in eleven minutes of 70's style power pop with a slight edge to it. It's like a combination of Cheap Trick and New York Dolls. If you loved amped up power pop and glam rock, Clean Lines are going to be for you. These four songs are just straight up fun songs that are both retro and timeless. Nuisance could have come out anytime in the past fifty years and have fit in perfectly. Long live rock and roll, even though we've been led to believe it's a dying artform.  You can listen to Nuisance below. The EP is out on on Spaghetty Town Records in the US, Ghost Highway Records in Spain, and Wanda Records in Germany. For more on Clean Lines, check ...

The Boatsmen - "Why Wait"

Image
Sweden's The Boatsmen are back with more high energy rock and roll! "Why Wait" might actually be a little more melodic than what we've heard from them previously, but that doesn't mean they're slowing down at all. "Why Wait" is still a hard rock song that leans into garage and punk without truly being either. This is just pure hard rock and roll, this time with some more melody and maybe even some power pop influences. "Why Wait" sounds like Cheap Trick deciding to rock a little harder than usual. And then there's the guitar solo which should come with a warning label about your face getting melted off. You can watch the video for "Why Wait" below. Hard Livin' is due out December 29 on Spaghetty Town Records and Ghost Highway Recordings. For more on The Boatsmen, check out their website .

The Dahmers - "Black Widow"

Image
Photo by Mikey Lennartsson Hailing from Sweden, The Dahmers don't truly sound like what you'd expect a band called The Dahmers to sound like. The band's latest single, "Black Widow," may have plenty of punk edge to it, but it's a much more glammed up sound than grungy. The band I'm reminded most of is Cheap Trick. The song has that big, huge power pop rock and roll sound you would associate with a 70's rock band like Cheap Trick, but it's filtered through some horror rock vibes and 80's synth rock. It's a weird amalgam of sounds that doesn't end up quite as weird as it sounds like it would be. But, if you like straight up Swedish rock and roll, you're going to get into The Dahmers. You can listen to "Black Widow" below. Ghouls in the Garage will be released on Spaghetty Town Records and Ghost Highway Recordings later this year. For more on The Dahmers, check out the band on Facebook and Instagram .

The Boatsmen - "Blame It On Me"

Image
We may have missed this video back when it came out back in October, but we're going to use it to remind you that Sweden's The Boatsmen are about to release a new album Friday. "Blame It On Me" is just pure rock and roll. It's fast, and loud, and heavy, but it's also groovy as all hell. It's rock with heavy elements of punk and proto-punk. As with all things from The Boatsmen, there is absolutely zero pretention here. Even the killer guitar solo is so killer because it's impossibly sloppy. I usually hate just copying a band description from a press release, but this one is perfect: "The Boatsmen were formed when all other great rock n roll bands quit or just stopped being good." How can you resist that? You can watch the video for "Blame It On Me" below. The Boatsmen vs The Boatsmen will be out April 23 on Spaghetty Town Records in the US and Ghost Highway Recordings in Europe. You can order your copy here . For more on The Boatsmen...

Brad Marino - "Even the Score"

Image
We recently discovered the old school power pop of Rochester, NH's Brad Marino, and we're completely sucked in by this discovery. His latest single, "Even the Score," is pure vintage 70's style power pop. It's a mid-tempo rock song that is completely catchy, from just the jangly guitar riffs to the chorus, to the "Ohhh-oh!"s. Plus the twangy slide guitar adds just the slightest country rock twinge that's going to make an even bigger fan out of you. It's the fun kinda rock song we all want for the summer, to either cruise around to or just hang out at an outdoor gathering (if that's possible this year). You can listen to "Even the Score" below. Looking for Trouble is due out April 30. In the US, you can get a vinyl copy from Spaghetty Town Records. In Europe, it will be via Beluga Records and Ghost Highway Recordings. CDs will be available through Rum Bar Records. You can find all options (including digital) over at Brad Marino...

The Boatsmen - "When I'm Drunk"

Image
Hailing from Sweden, The Boatsmen are a perfect example of modern rock 'n' roll. Their latest single, "When I'm Drunk," is a loud, fast, and in your face burst of pure rock. It's a little too flashy to be garage, and it lives in the same universe as Motorhead, straddling the line between punk and metal, and perfect for fans of both. Plus, there's just the slightest hint of 70's and 80's glam in here to allow it to still be as straight up rock as it is. Also, it's called "When I'm Drunk," so there's no sense of pretention here. It's just a loud, fun rock song. You can watch the video for "When I'm Drunk" below. Versus The Boatsmen , the upcoming album from The Boatsmen, will be out this year on Spaghetty Town Records in the U.S. and Ghost Highway Recordings in Europe.
