If It's Too Loud...

Liverpool's Stores have released one of the most 90's singles of this decade. "Bones" has this rollicking slacker vibe to it. The song is a burst of fun that seems to be missing in most of today's slacker rock and evokes artists like Beck and Pavement. It's filled with fuzzy guitar riffs that feel like the kind of alt-power pop bands like Superdrag and Local H used to bring us. It's an undeniably catchy rocker that ends up imploding unexpectedly/expectedly in the best possible way at the very end of the song. You can listen to "Bones" below. Hailing from Liverpool, Eyesore & The Jinx released a standalone single earlier this month. This is a song that's become legendary with fans of the band, who have wondered about its very existence. "Accidental Weller" is a post punk meets mod song. It's a fun danceable track, despite having this growing aggression building underneath. There are bursts of pure noise that periodically jump out, almost without warning. It's a shockingly intense song, even though it seems like a lighthearted, upbeat track throughout. It starts off as a chilled out mixture of trip hop and drum & bass. It's a beautiful electronic song, but it slowly builds and builds into a much more uncomfortable yet intriguing listen. At one point it sounds more like an organic Aphex Twin. Beija Flo describes "Nudes" and the exhibit "Inside the Walls":  “This very personal collection of music and art is about how I saw and captured my body, and how it as touched, over a specific period of time. A period of time in which I had a series of blemishing break-ups and sexual partners, during a very hard year in my life. Sure, "Leisure Time" is filled with that groove that is truly the trademark of post punk. But the single also has this underlying noise and menace. The guitar comes rattling in at a rate to be both disturbing and intriguing. And when it finally explodes?
