Wishy - "Sensational"

Image
Photo by Conor Shepherd We thought we knew what to expect from Wishy after hearing "Lovesick" back in June. However, the band has a new single out that defies the dream pop meets bubblegrunge sound we expected. "Sensational" is a groovy track. Sure, the song still fits in the indie rock category, but with a strong funk aspect to it. Wishy keep the dreamy feeling in their latest song, just a dreamy song you can easily dance to. The song reminds me of an indie rock version of early Michael Jackson mixed with "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and Soup Dragons' "Divine Thing." "Sensational" is a fun one, and it's great to see a young band show off so much range in their sound. You can watch the video for "Sensational" below. Nature's Pill is due out October 2 on Winspear, and is available for pre-order here . For more on Wishy, check out the band on Instagram . Upcoming tour dates are below the video and inclu...

Wishy - "All the Rage"

Photo by Rian Archer If you're not in the mood to be happy, you might want to avoid the latest from Wishy. "All the Rage" is a delightful, jangly indie rock song leaning heavily in the direction of pop. This one sounds like an update of the upbeat indie rock that dominated the CMJ charts in the late 90's (or, at least my college radio show). It's a bouncy track with a fun guitar solo that is just perfect for summertime. To me it sounds like a cross between The Apples in Stereo and The Anniversary. Wishy have crafted a perfect little indie rock meets pop song that you're not going to be able to get enough of. Kevin Krauter says of his band's latest single: “Hello Lovelies and welcome to the official Wishy press blurb for the second single !!!! Yayyy the song is out we are so happy!! :) Some *~Fun Facts~* about this song number 1. i wrote it after seeing artificial go and good flying birds play an awesome show major inspo 2. my roommate judah gave me some go...

Wishy - "Lovesick"

Photo by Rian Archer I hate repeating what a press release says about a band or song, but the one for the latest from Wishy nails it. "Lovesick" is compared to The Cure and The Sundays, and that pretty much explains it. The song is covered in a dreamy hazy throughout, mixing shoegaze and dream pop along with some bubblegrunge. This is kind of exactly what we'd want a song called "Lovesick" by a band named Wishy to sound like. It's an updated version of our favorite college/indie rock from the late 80's and early 90's. This is a killer track that modernizes some of our favorite musical styles. You can watch the video for "Lovesick" below. Nature's Pill is due out October 2 on Winspear, and is available for pre-order here . For more on Wishy, check out the band on Instagram . Upcoming tour dates are below the video and include October 14 at Brighton Music Hall in Boston. 07/25 – Cleveland, OH @ House of Blues * 07/26 – Indianapolis, IN @ ...
