VAZUM - "Gallows"
Detroit based duo VAZUM are a self described deathgaze band. Deathgaze combines deathrock with shoegaze, and you can hear a prime example of that sound on their latest single. "Gallows" has all the darkness and doom of deathrock but the droning lushness of shoegaze. It's a style that clashes with itself creating a gorgeous yet unsettling sound. Plus, VAZUM bring a giant, cinematic feel to "Gallows." Despite not being overtly loud or noisy, the song just feels huge. (Some noise comes later in the song, so don't you worry about that!) It's a truly unique sound that combines enough existing elements to still feel familiar. You can watch the video for "Gallows" below. The song is currently available for download via Bandcamp .
