Housebound Ska Collective Cover The Muppets

Image
Housebound Ska Collective formed in April of 2020 as a large group of ska loving musicians all over the world making music remotely together. Their latest release is a cover of "Rainbow Connection" from The Muppets. For a ska cover of The Muppets' trademark song, it's shockingly true to the original. It's more "Rainbow Connection" with a horn section than a ska version of the song. As someone who considers The Muppets to be sacred, I'm personally thrilled with any true to the original cover of this song. This is far better than you expect it to be, I can guarantee. You can watch the puppet heavy video for Housebound Ska Collective's version of "Rainbow Connection" below. For more on Housebound Ska Collective, check out the band's Facebook .

Housebound Ska Collective Cover The Muppets

There are few things in life I consider as sacred as The Muppets. That being said, The Muppet Christmas Carol is a blind spot in my Muppets knowledge. It came out when I was sixteen, so I would have been much too self conscious of being considered cool and adult to watch it. Plus, I'm more of an A Muppet Family Christmas guy. But, if Housebound Ska Collective are going to cover a song from The Muppet Christmas Carol , I'm going to check it out. "It Feels Like Christmas" is incredibly true to the original. Sure, there are horns in this version, and a few "Hey! Hey! Hey!"s thrown in there, but the Collective keep it more of a tribute to the original and completely avoid the tongue in cheek vibe of most ska covers. This is a Christmas cover that you can not miss. Housebound Ska Collective Covers Rage Against the Machine

We've been obsessed with Brass Against's covers of mostly 90's metal anthems, particularly their Rage Against the Machine Covers. Similar, but completely different, is this cover of "Killing in the Name" by Housebound Ska Collective. A giant collection of musicians worldwide from bands like Unknown Era, Lead Shot Hazard, Joker's Republic, Fighting Evil is Cool!, etc., Housebound Ska Collective are obviously a band that formed in quarantine and are collaborating from their own homes. As with all ska covers, it's a fun, upbeat version of the Rage Against the Machine classic. A lot of people are going to hate this and consider it heresy, but others are going to find it fun. You already know which one you are. You can watch the video for Housebound Ska Collective taking on "Killing in the Name" below. For more on Housebound Ska Collective, check them out on Facebook .
