Suzie Chism - "I Get Down"

Photo by Ryan Hartley According to Suzie Chism, her latest single is a "Party anthem for sad girls." "I Get Down" is a rock song with enough pop elements to appeal to more mainstream listeners. It has the dark, moody pop vibes of someone like Lana Del Ray, the classic rock/folk feel of Stevie Nicks, and the low end desert rock of Queens of the Stone Age. That's a weird combination of sounds, but Chism pulls is off quite well. It has this intense darkness to the song, but it's also an uplifting anthem at the same time. Like she said, it's a sad party anthem, and that's going to appeal to a lot of us out here.  Suzie Chism says of the new single: “I wrote ‘I Get Down’ in Los Angeles traffic a few years ago, after my ex left me and I was struggling to find somewhere (else) to live; I was so deeply lonely.
