Candy Coffins - "Every Day a Fresh Atrocity"

Candy Coffins certainly don't sound like they're from Columbia, South Carolina. The band's latest single, "Every Day a Fresh Atrocity" is the kind of post-punk or New Wave you typically only get out of England. As soon as the song starts, you're going to get some serious Cure vibes. It just has that haunting and swirling guitar sound you would normally associate with The Cure. It seems more like a lo-fi version of The Cure (or at least the more lush late 80's sound of The Cure filtered through their earlier recordings) mixed with some more American indie rock such as The Afghan Whigs as the song goes on. "Every Day a Fresh Atrocity" is the kind of song you're going to be thinking about for a long time after it's over.

You can listen to "Every Day a Fresh Atrocity" below. Once Do it With Feeling is due out October 21, and can be pre-ordered through Bandcamp. For more on Candy Coffins, check out the band's website.
