It's been a few years since we last heard from Idle Pilot. The Lowell band returns with new music, but the bad new is that this might be their last since Evan is moving away over the summer. But if their upcoming album is their final one as a band, at least they're going out with a bang. "Feign Surprise" is a wonderfully noisy indie rock track. It's filled with a ton of fuzz and is just a meteor of noise. It's definitely a lo-fi indie rock track, but it has some of that epic sound poking just underneath like your favorite songs off Bleach. Idle Pilot are one of our favorite bands from Lowell's current musical revival, so we'll be sad to see them go. But at least we're going to get one more killer album from them as a goodbye.
