Los Angeles based singer/songwriter GracieHorse has a new single out that has a very L.A. vibe to it. "If You're Gonna Walk That Straight Line Son, It's Only Gonna Hurt" has that countrified Americana sound you only can ever seem to get out of southern California. It's a modern take on 70's AM radio rock that slightly dipped into country. Plus, there is some great 90's indie rock meets Neil Young style guitar solos throughout the song, and the universe needs as many of those as possible. And I haven't even mentioned GracieHorse's vocals. She just has this ultracool sound to her voice that perfectly mixes 70's cool with 90's slacker cool. This entire song has a perfect vibe and sound that you're going to become enamored with more each time you listen.
You can watch the video for "If You're Gonna Walk That Straight Line Son, It's Only Gonna Hurt" below. L.A. Shit is due out May 19 on Wharf Cat Records, and is available for pre-order here. For more on GracieHorse, check out the artist's Bandcamp.
