If It's Too Loud...

Back in March when we brought you "Boss Man" from Istanbul, Turkey's Goblin Daycare, we weren't quite sure if we liked it, but thought it was interesting enough to share with you. With their latest single, "Liar, Liar," we're fully on board. This new single is an under two minute burst of frenetic punk energy, without having that overly tough guy attitude a lot of punk has. It's a noisy song with fuzzy guitars and some kind of synth squealing at various points. It's high energy and fun, while still being punk. "Liar, Liar" is obnoxious in the best possible way. This song isn't going to be for everyone. I'm not even sure that I'm a fan of it, but it's interesting enough that I feel like I need to post it. Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, Goblin Daycare have released "Boss Man." It's described as egg punk, and the song is fast but not very furious. It sounds like a hyped up, weirdo version of ? and the Mysterians. The song is a unique and oddly compelling version of punk, and I know referring to "Boss Man" as punk will anger punk purists, but what else can we call it? If you love your music to be on the more oddball end, and you're willing to have an open mind, Goblin Daycare might be for you.
