Miranda and the Beat - "Anxiety"

Image
Photo by Sacha Lecca Miranda and the Beat are one of the coolest garage rock/punk bands out there. Their latest single, "Anxiety," is the type of song that is going to induce anxiety. It's a garage/punk anthem, but has this certain element spiking during the song that is sure to trigger any anxiety you have. The song feels jerky, and has an amped up intensity to it. It's almost a little too fast, the guitars are a little too disjointed, and singer Miranda Zipse has an almost shriek to her vocals. Despite how anxiety inducing the song "Anxiety" can be, it's certainly a must listen. This might be the most punk of all of Miranda and the Beat's singles for their upcoming album. Miranda Zipse says of her band's latest single: "This song legit causes anxiety. This goddamn song has got me so stumped. I shot two different ideas for music videos and pulled two all-nighters this past week at work trying to get them together between working this job an...

Miranda and the Beat - "Manipulate Me"

Image
Photo by Sacha Lecca Miranda and the Beat are one of those bands that live in the worlds of garage rock and punk. Their latest single, "Manipulate Me," dives fully into the punk side of the spectrum. It's a fast and fun under two minute burst of a song. It sounds angry at times, but in an oddly fun way. The guitars just chug along at a breakneck pace, and switch to one of the noisiest solos around. Although it's less than two minutes long, the song seems much more fleshed out and longer than that short length would normally allow. If you love no nonsense rock and roll, Miranda and the Beat will quickly become a favorite of yours. Miranda Zipse says of her band's latest song: "This song was probably the most fun to write for the album. We were all in King Khan’s studio getting wine drunk and spitballing lines back and forth. We pretty much spent the whole time rolling on the floor dying of laughter, which ended up being very therapeutic and what we needed to d...

Miranda and the Beat - "Can't Take It"

Image
Miranda and the Beat recently relocated from New York City to New Orleans. Their latest single, "Can't Take It," is still the same vintage style of punk that we've come to love from them, but with more of an R&B twist. The song's roots are planted in early garage rock from bands like ? and the Mysterians, but a much darker version. The whole thing is a unique mash up of garage rock, punk, and darkwave. As dark as "Can't Take It" is, it's still a fun punk rock song that is going to inspire a mixture of pogoing and dancing at live shows. Miranda Zipse says of her band's latest single: “While recording the album at Moon Studios in Germany,   King Khan   played us some old King Khan and BBQ Show demos, including a skeleton voice memo with the phrase ‘Can’t Take It.’ The music came together effortlessly, and by the end of the day, we were all shouting ‘Can’t Take It’ at the top of our lungs. The video was easy for us to shoot because I was gen...
