Kill Lincoln - "Little Ghosts"

Image
Photo by Rae Mystic It's been a while since I've heard ska-core along the lines of the latest single from Kill Lincoln. "Little Ghosts" is a chaotic song that blasts straight through you like a runaway train. It's filled with metal guitar solos, gang vocal "Woah-ohhh-oh"s aplenty, punk guitars, and a plethora of horns. It has all that with a surprising amount of harmony. It's reminding me quite a bit of Taang! Records era Mighty Mighty Bosstones. "Little Ghosts" is a pure force of nature, and it all ends up being a ton of fun, which is what you want in ska, even if it's ska-core. Kill Lincoln are the type of band that is going to remind you why you ended up loving the genre in the first place, and will make you extra excited that the Warped Tour is returning next year. You can listen to "Little Ghosts" below. No Normal is due out September 27 on Bad Time Records and Caffeine Bomb Records. For more on Kill Lincoln, check out th...

Kill Lincoln - "All Worries"

Ska is typically thought of as happy, party music. Apparently no one told that to Kill Lincoln. The Washington DC band just released a single called "All Worries." A song called "All Worries" is obviously not going to be the cheeriest song, but for Kill Lincoln, that only applies to the lyrics. The song has a very Third Wave ska sound. It's bouncy and fun, and is a perfect song to dance to. The energy level is profoundly high, with some of the finest gang vocals of 2024. I'm personally a giant fan of happy sounding songs with darker lyrics, and "All Worries" nails that. This one is a upbeat party jam, at least until you pay attention to the words. You can watch the video for "All Worries" below. Good Riddance to Good Advice is due out September 27 on Bad Time Records and Caffeine Bomb Records. For more on Kill Lincoln, check out the band on Facebook and Instagram . Upcoming tour dates are below the video. Sep 5th — Minneapolis, MN @ Fine...

Kill Lincoln - "I'm Fine (I Lied)"

Photo by Rae Mystic Washington D.C.'s Kill Lincoln are making the kind of ska-punk I used to go see at the Warped Tour in the 90's. "I'm Fine (I Lied)" is a hyperactive ska-punk rager with all of the energy and noise of Third Wave ska. The main difference being while 90's ska-punk was mostly party music, Kill Lincoln's latest has party energy, but it's about lying when someone asks how you've been. It's reminding me a lot of Rebuilder's Local Support , but in tone and subject matter. We've mostly come to terms with still loving ska and pop punk here at If It's Too Loud..., and if you also have, you're going to want to check out "I'm Fine (I Lied)." You can watch the video for "I'm Fine (I Lied)" below. No Normal is due out September 27 on Bad Time Records and Caffeine Bomb Records, and is available for pre-order here .
