Image
Photo by Jo Anna Edmison Y'all have gotta be sick of hearing this by now. Ever since Thee Sinseers announced Love Stories back in May, every month we bring you a new single and talk about how it's a timeless soul song that can appeal to virtually every generation. Well, the album comes out Friday, and today they released a new single, "Oh Love." And, here we go again gushing about a new single from Thee Sinseers, and talking about how it's the finest that neo-soul has to offer, and that it has a timeless sound. But... "Oh Love" really is a great single that you're going to want to check out. We were already fully onboard with the East Los Angeles band, and this new single only makes us bigger fans, and has us even more excited for Love Stories.  You can listen to "Oh Love" below. Love Stories is due out September 18 on Colemine Records, and is available to pre-order through Bandcamp . For more on Thee Sinseers, check out the band on Instagr...

The Charities - "Movin' On"

Image
Photo by Zane Rubin Colemine Records is a label that has more recently earned my trust. They might be the main reason we cover so much neo-soul here at If It's Too Loud..., and their latest release is from The Charities. The California Central Coast band just released "Movin' On," which is a perfect example of modern soul music. Is has the perfect retro sound, tweaked just the slightest bit to sound a little modern. This is the type of song that could have come out any time in the past six decades, and it even ends in a fade out that sounds more 1970's than anything from this century. If you grew up on oldies or are just discovering soul music, The Charities are going to be you latest favorite band. You can listen to "Movin' On" below. The single is out now on Colemine Records, and the 45 can be pre-ordered here . For more on The Charities, check out the band on Instagram and Facebook . Upcoming tour dates are below the video. The Olympians featuring Lee Fields Cover The Beatles

Image
Photo by Brian Vidal Lee Fields is teaming up with his keyboardist Toby Panzer on a new single with Panzer's band The Olympians. The two artists have released a cover of The Beatles' iconic "Don't Let Me Down." The original shows off the legendary band's more soulful side, and the cover just amps up that quality. This is a pure soul version of "Don't Let Me Down," and sounds like it could have been released at the same times as Let It Be ... well... almost. The drums sound a little too much like they're from this century for the song to fully sound vintage. Plus, the horns on the song are absolutely stellar. If a soul rendition of "Don't Let Me Down" appeals to you, you're going to love the latest from The Olympians and Lee Fields.  You can listen to The Olympians and Lee Fields' version of "Don't Let Me Down" below. The single is out now via Colemine Records. For more on The Olympians, check out the band o...

Thee Sinseers - "There She Goes"

Image
Photo by Jo Anna Edmison I don't think there's anyone that nails the retro soul thing as well as Thee Sinseers do. The band's latest single, "There She Goes," fits in the category of neo-soul where it could have been released any time in the past seven decades. They sound completely vintage while also sounding modern, and this is some of the smoothest soul you've ever heard. They can appeal to virtually anyone in your family or friend group regardless of age or musical taste. Thee Sinseers sound is universal, and if you've ever been in love or even just wished you were, a song like "There She Goes" is going to appeal to you. It's only a matter of time before Thee Sinseers explode, so you're going to want to check them out now while ticket prices and venue sizes are still manageable.  You can listen to "There She Goes" below. Love Stories is due out September 18 on Colemine Records, and is available for pre-order here . For more ...

Thee Sinseers - "How Lonely is Lonely"

Image
Photo by Alfonso "JP" Gomez At this point, I don't know how I'm supposed to say anything new about Thee Sinseers. Every time the neo-soul band release a new single, it's incredible and ends up showing why they're one of the best soul bands out there today. Their latest, "How Lonely is Lonely," is the kind of song that sounds like it could have been released any time in the last sixty or so years. The only thing about it that sounds modern is its production. It's going to be beloved by virtually anyone you know regardless of age and musical taste. (Unless, of course, they only listen to a single genre and it doesn't happen to be soul or R&B.) If you've ever enjoyed a soul song, you're going to love "How Lonely is Lonely," and you're going to love everything Thee Sinseers do. You can listen to "How Lonely is Lonely" below. Love Stories is due out September 18 on Colemine Records, and is available to pre-order...

Thee Sinseers - "Let's Fall In Love (Again)"

Image
Photo by Alfonso "JP" Gomez Thee Sinseers might be the most dependable band out there today. When the band releases any new music, we know it's going to be a fantastic neo-soul track that encompasses virtually every era of soul music. Their latest single, "Let's Fall In Love (Again)," is a strong candidate for song of the summer. It's a light and breezy soul song that sounds like it could have come out any time from the last sixty or even seventy years. It's that perfect mixture of retro and modern, and the perfect sound for a song titled "Let's Fall In Love (Again)." Even that title brings up nostalgic thoughts no matter your age. Thee Sinseers have the kind of sound that is going to appeal to us, our grandparents, our parents, and even our kids.  You can watch the video for "Let's Fall In Love (Again)" below. Love Stories is due out September 18 on Colemine Records, and is available for pre-order here . For more on Thee ...
