Miranda and the Beat are one of those bands that live in the worlds of garage rock and punk. Their latest single, "Manipulate Me," dives fully into the punk side of the spectrum. It's a fast and fun under two minute burst of a song. It sounds angry at times, but in an oddly fun way. The guitars just chug along at a breakneck pace, and switch to one of the noisiest solos around. Although it's less than two minutes long, the song seems much more fleshed out and longer than that short length would normally allow. If you love no nonsense rock and roll, Miranda and the Beat will quickly become a favorite of yours.
Miranda Zipse says of her band's latest song:
"This song was probably the most fun to write for the album. We were all in King Khan’s studio getting wine drunk and spitballing lines back and forth. We pretty much spent the whole time rolling on the floor dying of laughter, which ended up being very therapeutic and what we needed to do at the time. This song’s about some real shit and it felt really good to get it out of our system in the form of an absolute fuckin banger. Moral of the story: always be a weirdo but never be a manipulative creep.”
