Mediocre's latest single lives in this unexpected world between alt-pop hooks and vocals and pummeling guitars and drums. "I Might Be Giant" starts off as a kinda cute and quirky rock song that leans a little more into he world of pop music, or maybe bubblegrunge. And then the guitars and drums kick in, and this is a straight up rock song. It's filled with fuzz and distortion, while still maintaining the charm the song started out with. Instead of loud/quiet/loud, "I Might Be Giant" is more cheery/heavy/cheery. This might be a strange comparison, but I'll stick by it: This reminds me of Local H meets the more indie rock side of Mary Lou Lord.
