STL GLD have been collaborating with the Boston Symphony Orchestra for a few songs. They've all been reworkings of existing STL GLD songs, and they've all been fantastic. The latest is a new, unreleased STL GLD song, "Resisting." ("Resisting has previously appeared in a Front Row Boston "Field Recordings" video.) "Resisting" is an absolutely epic song. Based on the title, it's fairly obvious what the song is about. Typically, an orchestra is used to add a huge, cinematic feel to a song. Here, the BSO adds a cinematic feel, but more of a moody, dark feel which fits the song better. The anger and rage in STL GLD's vocals and the music they bring to the song stand in start contrast to BSO's mood, but the two sounds blend perfectly. All of STL GLD and the Boston Symphony Orchestra's collaborations have been masterpieces. "Resisting" is a whole new level.
