Cooper B. Handy and Salvadore McNamara met as preteens on MySpace and started playing music together at the ages of thirteen and fourteen. The Massachusetts duo have a new single out today titled "Shoot." The song is an ultra DIY and shockingly groovy track that clocks in at under two minutes. The song harkens back to the DIY indie rock of early Sebadoh and Daniel Johnston without truly sounding like those artists. If you've been a fan of 90's lo-fi indie rock, you're going to immediately connect to "Shoot" while finding a truly new sound to love. Somehow Taxidermists have slipped under our radar for well over a decade, but we're thrilled to discover them now.
Taxidermists say of their upcoming album:
“We haven’t made a record like this in 12 years and we’ve learned so much since then. We may not put out a ton of music, but we care about the music we make.”
You can watch the video for "Shoot" below. 20247 is due out March 7 on Danger Collective Records, and is available for pre-order here. For more on Taxidermists, check out the band on Instagram and Facebook.
