Joy Buzzer Cover The Beatles

New York City power pop group Joy Buzzer have released a cover of The Beatles' 1966 classic "She Said, She Said." This new version of the song remains rather true to the original, with some flourishes. Joy Buzzer have increased the fuzz and psychedelia of The Beatles' version. It's still instantly recognizable as the Revolver tune, but it sounds a bit more like Sgt Pepper 's Beatles with psych-friendly guitar solos, and an increase in vocal harmonies. It's a fun cover song that stays true to the original while adding just enough of their own sound to it. Joy Buzzer say of their new cover: "'She Said, She Said' feels like a natural fit for us because so much of what we love about power pop is already there in the song.  The hooks, the guitars, the momentum—we just wanted to push it louder and bring our own energy to it. Joy Buzzer - "You'd Be Surprised"

Photo by Linda Rizzo Sometimes killer rock and roll comes from an unlikely place. New York City's Joy Buzzer just released a fantastic new power pop single. The band formed in 2021 and is led by guitarist and songwriter Jed Becker. If you watch your kids' shows closely, you might recognize Becker as the composer and music director of Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go! None of that sound is present in their latest single, "You'd Be Surprised." The new single is just pure power pop joy in the vein of an artist like Fountains of Wayne. It sounds like the kind of power pop that was made in the 90's that was inspired by the 60's. It's undeniably catchy and poppy, but with a little of that 90's alternative rock edge to it. Joy Buzzer are crushing it right now, and we're looking forward to hearing more from the quartet.
