"Long Face People" has some elements that could be described as quirky if the song didn't rock so hard. It's filled with guitars that would make Sonic Youth proud, and kind of sounds like that band decided to write a hit song but got bored halfway through and just decided a pop song wasn't a fun enough idea. What's truly strange about "Long Face People" is that it sounds like it should be much heavier than it actually is. If you're wondering what that sounds like, their latest single, "Nail Biter," fits that description perfectly. It has that post-punk experimentation side that reminds me of early Sonic Youth, particularly their more spoken word songs. It has the darkness of goth, but the fun of pop. Yes, that's possible.
