If It's Too Loud...

Photo by Alice Smith Last month we brought you "Bubble Sword," what was then the latest single from Glasgow's Hairband. Today we can bring you a new single, "Flying." The new song is quite different from the previous one. While "Bubble Sword" was a joyous blend of post punk, "Flying" is much more of a laid back ballad. While it's not quite as intense and upbeat as what we've heard before, "Flying" just enough of a trace of the post punk groove we loved with their last song to keep us interested. Despite the fact that it's a ballad, it still has that same sense of joy we've come to love with Hairband. You can watch the video for "Flying" below. "Bubble Sword" has some pretty strong roots in post punk, but there is something more organic and almost roots based in the song. While post punk typically has a distinct groove, "Bubble Sword" has a wildly fun dance feel to it. It's almost like if And the Kids... went post punk. You end up with an incredibly joyous song with just enough of an edge to avoid being saccharine.  You can listen to "Bubble Sword" below.
