Bambies - "Teen Engine"

Image
Our favorite tri-lingual and tri-national punks out of Montreal are back with a new single! Bambies have recently unveiled "Teen Engine," another old school punk that's too dirty to be pop punk but too pop to be truly punk song. It's a party rager that's going to make you long for the days of being pressed up against a stage hoping you don't get kicked in the head but getting plenty of beer spilled on you. This is the kind of pop punk before it went MTV pop, back in the days of Screeching Weasel and The Queers. You can listen to "Teen Engine" below. Summer Soon  is due out August 20 on Spaghetty Town Records in the US and Wanda Records in Europe. You can pre-order the album here . For more on Bambies, check out the band's Facebook . Bambies - "Summer Soon"

Tri-lingual and tri-national (but based in Montreal) band Bambies have a new song off of their upcoming album. "Summer Soon" hits two of my musical loves. It's dirty garage rock mixed with the kind of 90's punk that was heavily inspired by the Ramones (The Queers, Mr. T Experience, etc.) It's fast and loud and noisy, but also oddly melodic. It's all buzzing guitars and a frenzied beat that makes you want to dance around a bit. You know, just the kind of good old rock 'n' roll that went out of style a ways back, but you know you still love unashamedly. Sami Stern says of the new song: "Summer is always a blast for folks in Quebec. That feeling at the end of winter when the sun is out, the snow is melting and last season’s accumulated garbage appears below! It’s a promise for better days. The feeling is wonderful."   You can listen to "Summer Soon" below. Summer Soon is due out August 20 on Spaghetty Town Records in the US and Wanda R...

Bambies - "Dirty Taint"

I am way, way, way too old to be rocking out to a song called "Dirty Taint," but here we are. Montreal's Bambies are a tri-lingual and tri-national band with members from Canada, Costa Rica, and France. "Dirty Taint" is the kind of punk song from a band that obviously worships the Ramones and is reminiscent of fellow disciples The Queers and Screeching Weasel. It's just fun rock 'n' roll based punk that you can actually kinda dance to more than just pogoing. It's a brand of punk with some pop sensibilities but nowhere near enough to truly be called pop punk. You can listen to "Dirty Taint" below. Summer Soon is due out August 20 on Spaghetty Town Records in the U.S. and Wanda Records in Europe. You can pre-order the album here . For more on Bambies, check out the band on Facebook .
