WENCH! and Jodie Langford - "You've Got Male"

"All queer, all female" band WENCH! have teamed up with party punk Jodie Langford on a new single. "You've Got Male" is a blistering take-down is about "... misogynistic mole-rats who hold women at an unattainably high standard due to their perception of femininity being affected by unrealistic media imagery." As angry and fiery as the song is, it's also fun. It's like they combined Bikini Kill and Le Tigre into one kick ass band. "You've Got Male" mocks their deserved targets, and would leave many of them crying if they were self-aware enough. It also ends up being one of the most punk rock tracks of the year, released as 2025 is winding down. WENCH! - "Shreds"

WENCH! are an "all-female, all-queer outfit" out of Hull, UK. The trio just released their debut single, and it's simply a must hear. "Shreds" fits into the newfangled punk coming out these days that is defiantly punk while still being more dance-friendly than the genre traditionally is. The difference is that while "Shreds" almost begs you to dance to it, it's a little louder and more discordant than punk normally gets these days. You're going to want to dance to it, but you won't quite know how to. As poppy as WENCH! get on their debut, they get just as abrasive. This is the type of song that's going to have you desperate to hear more from WENCH!
