Kalyn Beasley - "Goodbye BYU"

Straight out of northern Wyoming is Kalyn Beasley. In his life, he's been a cowboy, rodeo hand, pilot, and bookseller, and now he has a new single out. "Goodbye BYU" is pure country. This is the kind of country that your friends who love bro and pop country are going to hate, but true country fans will adore. It's twangy as it can possibly be with just enough of a rock and roll base to squeak it into alt-country. Plus, there is fantastic guitar work in "Goodbye BYU," and country guitar solos are typically lacking. Kalyn Beasley is perfect for fans of what is nowadays called Americana or classic country.

Kalyn Beasley says of his latest single:

"There comes a time when we all question the rules, narratives, and messages we’ve grown up with. Our own ideas and perspectives shine through a lifetime of indoctrination and in some cases, we rebel. We go find our own truth and what best feeds our soul. That’s what is at the heart of ‘Goodbye BYU’; being young, questioning everything, going too far, and coming back to a reasonable center."
