Her version is titled "Taimangalimaaq" and keeps the bare bones of Lauper's original intact while reinventing the song in her language. The melody is still there, and the song is still instantly recognizable even without it being sung in English. It's more of a traditional and deconstructed version that is absolutely stunning. It's always fascinating to hear a completely new take on a song you've heard countless times, and when it's done as brilliantly as Elisapie has, it's the kind of art you'll keep going back to. Considering his wife is Rachael Price of Lake Street Dive, you can't go wrong. Their version of the song is a stripped down version of the song accompanied with guitar, piano, and saxophone. "Time After Time" is just one of those songs that you simply can't go wrong with. It's the rare pop song beloved by virtually everyone, and Taylor Ashton and Rachael Price do Cyndi Lauper proud. Since we are overly obsessed with covers and rightly obsessed with Stella Donnelly, we needed to bring you this. Back on New Year's 2017 (or 2018? I never know with New Year's...) Stella Donnelly performed a cover of Cyndi Lauper's iconic "Time After Time" on ABC Australia's New Years Eve special. First, I'm beyond jealous that Australia gets well produced videos of artists on the caliber of Stella Donnelly while we get country stars rapping about their pick up truck or whatever it is that passes for mainstream country these days. The video is just Donnelly and her guitar playing a gorgeous and faithful rendition of "Time After Time." Sure, Donnelly doesn't quite belt it out like Lauper does, but that's hardly a complaint.
