Maple Glider - "Two Years"

Photo by Bridgette Winten Maple Glider, aka Australia's Tori Zietsch, continues to release mesmerizing singles ahead of her album release. The latest is "Two Years," which is the most pop leaning song we've heard from her so far. "Two Years" is the kind of song that slowly morphs tempo and style. Most songs build to a larger sound as they go on, but Maple Glider takes the opposite approach with this one. It starts off as a mid-tempo folk-pop song and ever so slowly the song seems to strip itself apart until it is just bare bones and mostly folk. Instead of getting more intense by getting louder, "Two Years" uses it's quiet to get more intense. Tori Zietsch says of her new single: “I remember having the need to write this song at the moment I was experiencing these uncertain feelings, but being unable to do so in private.  This was a time of life where I got swept up into the clouds, and didn’t feel the ground for a long time.
