Blood Lightning - "The Dying Starts"

We obviously don't cover a lot of metal or truly heavy music here at If It's Too Loud..., so you know when we do it's going to be great. Blood Lightning are a true Boston metal supergroup featuring members of GOZU, Sam Black Church, Worshipper, We're All Gonna Die, and more. Their debut single, "The Dying Starts," is true classic metal. It's a heavy metal song without the modern screaming or monster voiced vocals. Jim Healy is actually singing, and quite melodically. I say that as someone who hates melodic metal since it usually goes against everything metal stands for. But this is more like a non-80's sounding Anthrax than modern pop metal. It's heavy, and shreds, but has killer singing. Yeah, I have a feeling we'll be paying attention to everything Blood Lightning does here.

You can watch the video for "The Dying Starts" below. The song is currently available as a single via Bandcamp. For more on Blood Lighting, check out the band's Facebook.
