Jimetta Rose & The Voices of Creation - "Portals"

Jimetta Rose & The Voices of Creation aren't really like the music we typically cover here at If It's Too Loud..., but their latest single fits right into the music we love. "Portals" mixes genres like house, funk, soul, R&B, and hip hop into a fresh sound. The song sounds like a more organic version of those genres than you normally hear these days. The roots of "Portals" are in the 1970's versions of soul and funk, but the song sounds completely modern and of today. Jimetta Rose & The Voices of Creation make the type of music that can unite virtually any fan of music without the fans even realizing it is happening. I usually don't use the term "uplifting" as a compliment, but most songs aren't as great as "Portals."

Jimetta Rose says of the new single:

“Every day has the potential to transform our life, our perspective, and our world. Each day is filled with portals of possibility.”

You can listen to "Portals" below. Things are Getting Better is due out July 26 via Day Dreamer Recordings, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp. For more on Jimetta Rose & The Voices of Creation, check out the artist on Instagram and Facebook.
