Yatsu - It Can't Happen Here

An email I received for the latest release from Yatsu described their music as "... a noisy mix of hardcore, grindcore, and powerviolence." The songs that make up It Can't Happen Here are much louder and heavier than what we typically cover here at If It's Too Loud..., but there is just something about the Dallas band that works for us. Despite just being heavy and loud, there is something about Yatsu that is just barely out of control. Songs like "Scavenger Ethics" and "Appomattox" sound like they're just erupting out of the instruments with musicians trying (and barely succeeding) in keeping the sounds coming out in musical form. A song like "Civic Duties" is a little more traditional hardcore. It Can't Happen Here is a brutal album that sucks you in for seventeen songs in under twenty-three minutes.

You can watch the video for "Appomattox" below. It Can't Happen Here is out now and can be purchased via Bandcamp. For more on Yatsu, check out the band on Facebook and Instagram.
