Ryann Gonsalves - "Burrowing"

Ryann Gonsalves is the bassist and co-lead singer of Torrey and Aluminum. She's set to release her first solo album, and has a new single from that album out. "Burrowing" has this delightful 90's indie rock meets singer-songwriter sound. Gonsalves' voice has this light and cheery sound to it, but the music in "Burrowing" has a much more biting edge. It's not punk, but there is a distinct lo-fi vibe to the music. The song edges right up against modern neo-folk, but doesn't quite commit to that sound fully. Instead, it lives in the world of early Liz Phair, which isn't a bad place to be in.

Ryann Gonsalves says of their new video:

“I visit my best friend pretty often, where I spend a decent amount of time alone while everyone's at work. Some days it's just me and their family's dog, Max, at the house. The idea behind the video is that Max contemplates life from the song's lens while all the humans are out of the room.”

You can watch the video for "Burrowing" below. Ouch! is due out February 14 on Dandy Boy Records, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp. For more on Ryann Gonsalves, check out the artist on Instagram.
