If you were involved in the Boston music scene in the 90's, you know Tree. Even if you weren't, you still know Tree. The Boston hardcore legends were everywhere back then, with stickers attached to literally every single surface within a ninety minute radius of Boston. The past year or so has seen a reemergence of the band that has seen them play at virtually every single venue in the New England area with a consistency of hungry young bands half their age. Now, they're back with their first new music in twenty five years. "Cheats at Golf" sees Tree wearing their politics on their sleeve with an anti-Trump song. It's hard and fast and everything we want from Tree.
Singer Dave Tree says of the band's new song:
“'Cheats at Golf' combines hardcore punk, politics, journalism, and sportsmanship into one song. Golf is a gentleman’s sport played with your friends. So if you are willing to cheat at golf on your friends, what else are you willing to cheat on?”
