Growing Concerns Poetry Collective - "Shout Across Mountains"
Photo by Alexus McLane I'm not sure exactly what I expected from a band called Growing Concerns Poetry Collective, but this wasn't it. When it first started, I was thinking some oddball folk like Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, but once the song kicked in more, hip hop made sense. "Shout Across Mountains" is going to feel completely fresh while being oddly familiar to 90's hip hop fans. It's the laid back, more organic hip hop that artists like Digable Planets brought us, with maybe a little of The Pharcyde thrown in. Despite the laid back sound and feel of the song, "Shout Across Mountains" and its video addresses the current crises in America.
