If It's Too Loud...

The song is a light and breezy track that isn't exactly a throwback. Instead, it's an updated version of those sounds made fresh for 2024. It has roots in pop music, but an artsier version of pop than what you typically hear. If I'm being forced to make comparisons to current artists, "Any Day Now" sounds like a cross between Faye Webster and Kate Nash. Bollinger has crafted a song that is loads of fun without being cheesy or embarrassing, which can be rare. Kate Bollinger says of her new single: " My good friend Matt [E. Jeanines first started in the 2010s as an outlet for Alicia Jeanine to deal with work related stress. She brought a classical music sensibility from her childhood to the songs, but the band is playing a brand of indiepop. Her friend Jed Smith soon joined her to help flesh out the project. Their new song, "Any Day Now," is a bouncy slice of indiepop. But, as with any truly great indiepop song, the upbeat vibe shrouds a sense of melancholy. Seeing as it was written during a pandemic, the song definitely reflects that sense of confusion and is fairly dark. It's basically the musical equivalent of saying "I'm fine" while the world seems to be falling apart all around you.  You can watch the video for "Any Day Now" below.
