Lynda Mandolyn Covers The Paris Sisters

Image
Originally meant to be a duet between Lynda Mandolyn (Tiger Bomb, Crystal Canyon) and the late Justine Covault, Mandolyn has released a cover of The Paris Sisters' "I Love How You Love Me." Mandolyn's version is very faithful to the original, with just a little bit more of a garage rock edge to it. There's even some surprisingly noisy and rough guitar work later on that you wouldn't expect in such a clean tribute to a girl group classic. It's a great tribute to her late friend, and is going to work perfectly for fans of early rock and roll, doo wop, and garage rock. As with virtually anything on Run Bar Records, this is going to get our highest endorsement. Lynda Mandolyn says of her new single: "Justine (Covault) approached me about doing this song as a duet together. Sugar Snow Covers Goffin & King

Image
Sugar Snow is the solo project of Kid Gulliver's Simone Berk. According to the Bandcamp bio, Sugar Snow is " dr eamy, melodic,  pretty, sad, honest and raw," which sums up the project's latest single. "He Knows I Love Him Too Much" was written by the songwriting pair of Gerry Goffin and Carole King, and popularized by The Paris Sisters. It's a classic early 60's oldie, and the Sugar Snow version stays quite true to the original, with maybe a little more hint of modern folk than the pre-Beatles invasion music scene sound of the original. Interestingly enough, Berk recorded her vocals at Zippah Studios while in her minivan due to social distancing. You can listen to Sugar Snow's take on "He Knows I Love Him Too Much" below. The song is currently available via Bandcamp . For more on Sugar Snow, check out the artist's Facebook and Twitter . He Knows I Love Him Too Much by Sugar Snow
