Joshua David Thayer - Warmonger

Boston singer-songwriter Joshua David Thayer released a new album back in December, and now he's back with a three song EP. Warmonger continues Thayer's tradition of not sticking to just one sound. It opens with the title track, which is much heavier than So Little, Close to Nothing. He's showing off his 90's roots with this one, with noisy fuzz mixing with the melodies. After that, "That's the Way I Roll" gets a little more funky and psychedelic, and "Stay Small" gets back to the 90's singer-songwriter style. Thayer is bouncing between the worlds of the mainstream and the more experimental with Warmonger, as each song rubs right up against being a nice, pleasant track that could easily get played on commercial radio, but takes a last second swerve that keeps things unique and interesting.

You can listen to Warmonger below. The album is out now on Brave Tiger Records, and is available via Bandcamp. For more on Joshua David Thayer, check out the artist's website.
