Friday will see the El Monte, CA trio release a new album, but they have a new single out now for those of us that can't wait that long. "See What I Mean" sounds like how The Strokes sounded twenty years ago, just slightly updated and with a slight Latin flavor. As soon as the opening guitar chords hit, you'll know exactly what you're in store for. It might feel a little strange that we're now in a revival for the garage rock revival of the early 00's, but once you hear "See What I Mean" you'll be thrilled that we are. The trio's latest single, "Didn't Realize," takes the sound of that era (particularly The Strokes) and injects the Latin-tinged sound of their childhoods. It's an amazing mixing of sounds, and is just enough of a change to refresh a twenty year old sound and make it fresh again.
