Vancouver's Night Court started out as friends emailing each other song ideas during lockdown, and has blossomed into a full blown project. Their latest single, "Mistakes Become You," expands on 2022's Nervous Birds Too. The new song is under two minutes, but has a scope far greater than its length. It's a bouncy mini-epic, and has that lo-fi punchy indie rock sound of an artist like Guided By Voices but the giant harmonies of The Polyphonic Spree. The song is an absolute joy to listen to, and I'd wish it were longer, but that wouldn't be the Night Court way.
